A 50-year-old Indian-origin motel manager from Karnataka, working in Dallas, was brutally killed in front of his wife and teenage son following a workplace dispute. The argument began over a broken washing machine, escalating when the manager asked the suspect to stop using it. He also had someone else translate the request instead of speaking directly to the suspect, which apparently ignited the violence.
The accused, a 37-year-old co-worker, is alleged to have retrieved a machete, pursued the manager to the motel’s front office, and attacked him repeatedly. Despite efforts by the family to intervene, the suspect is said to have beheaded the victim, then kicked the severed head into the parking lot and later discarded it in a dumpster. He was arrested at the scene, found with the weapon and other belongings belonging to the victim.
The man faces capital murder charges and is being held without bond, with authorities also placing an immigration hold on him given his legal status. The victim, remembered by those who knew him as a hardworking and caring family man, is survived by his wife and 18-year-old son. Indian consular officials have issued condolences and are providing assistance to the family amid the ongoing investigation.
