In Somerset, New Jersey, the New Jersey State AAPI proudly hosted its 7th Annual Convention on November 15, 2025, at the Imperia Banquet Hall. Under the leadership of President Dr. Raj Bhayani, the event attracted hundreds of physicians, healthcare leaders, and policymakers, marking a significant milestone of community strength, professional excellence, and collaborative progress.
Dr. Bhayani opened the evening reflecting on the chapter’s growth since its inception in 2017, emphasizing the power of mentorship, research, and shared vision in advancing healthcare for New Jersey residents. The convention’s success was driven by dedicated leadership, including Chair of the Board Dr. Rachana Kulkarni, Past President Dr. Sudha Nahar, Convention Chair Dr. Chetan Shah, and other key organizers who meticulously coordinated the event’s logistics, finances, seating, and décor to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The unified efforts of NJ State AAPI’s Board Members—representing a diverse group of experts—ensured smooth operations and high engagement throughout the evening. Founders like Dr. Hemant Patel and Dr. Kishore Ratkalkar secured important sponsorships, while Dr. Binod Sinha highlighted community support and gratitude.

The convention was proudly backed by seven Platinum Sponsors, including Robert Wood Johnson Hospital System and Hackensack Meridian Hospital System, and featured a record thirty exhibitors showcasing leading healthcare technologies and pharmaceuticals, fostering valuable connections.
A highlight of the event was the presence of Chief Guest Mrs. Amruta Fadnavis, First Lady of Maharashtra, who applauded Indian American physicians’ impactful contributions. Special honors included the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Chirag Patel, co-founder of Amneal Pharmaceuticals, recognizing his outstanding role in the pharmaceutical sector and philanthropy.

Academic excellence shone through the expanded Research Symposium, which featured a record 85 submissions. Led by Dr. Atul Prakash and Dr. Subhasini Gowda, this segment showcased groundbreaking research from students, residents, and young physicians, reinforcing the chapter’s commitment to advancing medical knowledge.
The 7th Annual Convention celebrated NJ State AAPI’s mission to strengthen physician networks, promote academic growth, and advocate for comprehensive healthcare. Dr. Bhayani expressed gratitude to all who contributed, heralding the event as one of the most successful in the chapter’s history and signaling a bright future for continued impact and innovation.
