An Indian whisky priced at around ₹5,350 has created history on the international stage by winning the prestigious ‘Best New Scotch Whisky of the Year’ title at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Adding to its achievement, the whisky also secured a Double Gold Medal, standing out among hundreds of premium spirits from across the world.
The award-winning label is D’Yavol Vortex, a premium blended Scotch whisky backed by Shah Rukh Khan along with Aryan Khan, Leti Blagoeva, and Bunty Singh under SLAB Ventures. Launched only in 2024, the whisky has quickly made a mark in the global premium spirits arena.
Craft & Distillation
D’Yavol Vortex is produced using a carefully curated blend of single malt and single grain Scotch whiskies sourced from legendary Scottish regions including:
- Lowlands
- Highlands
- Speyside
- Islay
The whisky is deliberately malt-forward, delivering a layered and well-rounded profile that balances rich malt depth, sherried sweetness, and gentle Islay peat smoke.

Ingredients
- D’Yavol Vortex – 60 ml
- Instant popcorn
- Okinawa sugar syrup – 40 ml
- Angostura bitters – 2 dashes
Method
- Infuse the whisky with instant popcorn and refrigerate for a few hours.
- Strain the whisky to remove solids.
- Stir the infused whisky with Okinawa syrup and bitters over ice.
- Garnish with edible gold leaf and serve in an Old-Fashioned glass.
