Washington, D.C. — On October 20, 2025, the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) commemorated its golden jubilee with a Diwali reception held at The Top of the Hay-Adams Hotel. Business leaders, diplomats and government officials gathered to celebrate not only the Festival of Lights, but also half a century of U.S.–India economic cooperation.
Indian Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Kwatra, served as the guest of honour and spoke on the significance of Diwali — associating light with both good health and prosperity. He emphasized that the “momentum” in U.S.–India relations is supported by strong investment and partnership ties, including those fostered through USIBC.
Ambassador Kwatra highlighted upcoming priorities such as finalising the bilateral trade deal, expanding capital flows, advancing technology collaboration and reinforcing business linkages. These goals, he said, represent a bright future for the business corridor between the two countries.
Former USIBC President Nisha Biswal praised current leadership for elevating the economic partnership to a strategic level, stressing that the business channel is now central to the broader U.S.–India alliance. Neil Bradley, Executive Vice President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, described the relationship as founded on friendship, mutual growth and respect — calling it “a path of light” to be further illuminated.
The reception underscored a shared vision: to build on existing achievements and chart the next phase of bilateral engagement. With business diplomacy at its core, the USIBC’s 50-year landmark celebrated not just past accomplishments, but the promise of future collaboration.
