The Boston-based arts collective Souls of India will host an afternoon of Indian classical music and dance at 3 p.m. on March 7 at the Marran Theater in Cambridge.
Titled “NAVA YUVA: The Next Chapter,” the program will showcase live Hindustani classical music performed by two local artists alongside special guest Satyaprakash Mishra from Mumbai, India. The event will also feature Indian classical dance performances by co-founders and artistic directors Meghma “Meg” Banerjee and Samadrita Bhattacharyya.
Established in 2020, Souls of India is a collaboration-focused creative arts organization committed to preserving and presenting Indian classical traditions while encouraging cross-cultural dialogue throughout Massachusetts.
Over the years, the group has staged performances across the state and earned recognition and support from organizations such as the Mass Cultural Council, Cambridge Arts Council, Boston Dance Alliance, Monkeyhouse, the NAACP Mystic Valley Branch, Know Your Neighbor, LearnQuest Academy of Music, and Radha Rhythms.
The March 7 performance celebrates the depth and beauty of Hindustani classical music alongside traditional Indian dance, offering audiences an immersive cultural experience. Organizers say the event reflects their dedication to thoughtful artistic curation and to creating performances that feel like “a little bit of home” for members of the Indian diaspora, while also welcoming the wider community.
Tickets and more information are available online. In the lead-up to the event, the organization has been sharing artist highlights and updates through its social media channels.
The Marran Theater presentation continues Souls of India’s broader mission to foster artistic connections across Greater Boston through live performance, education, and collaboration.
