Qatar’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, has called on the international community to end hypocrisy and hold Israel responsible for its actions. He made the appeal in advance of an emergency Arab-Islamic summit convened in Doha, following a controversial Israeli attack that struck targets linked to Hamas in Qatari territory.
Speaking at a preparatory meeting, the PM described Israel’s operations in Gaza as tantamount to a “war of extermination,” arguing that international silence is enabling further wrongdoing. He emphasized that double standards—where certain actors are held to different moral or legal benchmarks—undermine global justice and diminish trust in diplomatic processes.
The summit aims to bring together leaders from Arab and Islamic countries to issue a unified response. Possible outcomes include a draft resolution condemning the attack on Qatar, coordinated pressure on Israel, and calls for clearer accountability. Analysts see this gathering as a test of regional solidarity and a moment for Gulf states to assert diplomatic influence amid worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
