UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has announced a nationwide prayer for rain, known as Salaat Al Istisqaa, to be held at all mosques across the country on Friday, October 17. The prayer will take place 30 minutes before the regular Jumu’ah prayer.
This initiative comes in response to ongoing dry conditions and follows the Islamic tradition of seeking divine mercy during times of drought. Residents across all Emirates are encouraged to participate in this collective act of supplication.
The President’s call underscores the importance of turning to spiritual practices in addressing environmental challenges, reflecting the nation’s commitment to its cultural and religious heritage.
