PASSAIC, N.J. — Rana Samaj USA marked a major milestone with its 35th Annual Gala Diwali celebration on Saturday, November 15, held at Mahatma Gandhi High School. Nearly 500 community members gathered for an evening filled with culture, tradition, and meaningful community engagement. The event also welcomed Guest of Honor Mayor Hector C. Lora, representing the City of Passaic.
Honoring Community and Tradition
The celebration opened with a heartfelt prayer and a moment of silence led by Bharat Rana, President of Rana Samaj USA, as the community remembered loved ones who passed away during the year. In his opening remarks, Rana reaffirmed the organization’s mission: preserving the rich Rana heritage and strengthening unity through cultural, social, and religious programs across the United States.
Vibrant Cultural Performances
The evening highlighted colorful and energetic performances by both youth and adult participants. Entertainment was choreographed and presented by:

- BJ Kala Dance Studio
- Unnati Dance Academy
The three-hour cultural showcase drew continuous applause, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to fostering cultural pride and participation among younger generations.
Mayor Lora Praises Community Contributions
Mayor Hector C. Lora commended the Indian American community for its continued support and contributions to Passaic’s growth.
“I am honored to join this beautiful celebration of Indian culture. The Indian American community has played a significant role in the progress of our city, and I extend warm wishes for your continued health and prosperity,” he shared.
