Boston, December 12, 2025 — Juju Productions, in collaboration with Saregama India Ltd., has announced the worldwide release of a groundbreaking musical project featuring nine iconic Bollywood songs re-envisioned exclusively for Western symphonic orchestras. The collection, part of the Symphony Masala series, will premiere on Saregama’s official digital platform starting December 14, 2025.

This unique release showcases vocals by Anuradha “Juju” Palakurthi and Mithilesh Patankar, performed alongside the renowned Budapest Scoring Orchestra under the baton of conductor Péter Illényi. The orchestral arrangements were crafted by an international team of composers and arrangers including D J Sparr, Neville Franco, Kamlesh Bhadkamkar, Ishaan Chhabra, Bala G, Bappa Lahiri, and others. Audio mixing and mastering were handled by acclaimed sound engineer Vijay Dayal.
Bridging Eastern Melodies and Western Symphonies
Symphony Masala marks a historic fusion of musical traditions by translating Bollywood’s melody-driven and improvisational style into formal Western orchestral notation. Notably, the arrangements exclude traditional Indian instruments such as the tabla or sitar, relying solely on Western orchestral frameworks.
This approach creates a standardized musical score that can be performed by orchestras across the globe—from student ensembles to professional symphonies—without requiring prior exposure to Indian classical or film music. The project thus opens the door for Bollywood compositions to enter concert halls worldwide in an accessible and authentic format.
“We envisioned Symphony Masala as a way to bring Indian melodies into Western orchestral spaces while maintaining musical integrity and cultural respect,” said Palakurthi.
