Hridayapoorvam Review: A Heartfelt, Feel-Good Drama Anchored by Mohanlal’s Charm

Hridayapoorvam is a warm, family drama directed by Sathyan Anthikad, reuniting him with Mohanlal after many years. The story revolves around Sandeep, a cloud-kitchen owner who survives a heart transplant. Years later, he’s invited by Haritha, the daughter of his donor, to attend her engagement in Pune. A sudden accident, however, forces him to stay on with Haritha and her mother, Devika, sparking unexpected bonds and personal growth.

Though the narrative is thin and predictable, it works largely because of its heart. Mohanlal delivers a charming performance, balancing quiet vulnerability with humour. Sangeeth Prathap as Jerry, the nurse/assistant, adds warmth and laughs, while Malavika Mohanan and Sangita Madhavan Nair bring depth to their respective roles. The chemistry among the characters feels genuine.

Technically, the film is pleasing: soft, natural cinematography captures the landscapes and interiors with a comforting vibe, and the music supports the emotional tones without overwhelming them. Some subplots feel unnecessary, and pacing slows in parts, but overall the film succeeds at being a feel-good entertainer—especially suited for those seeking emotional closure, simple joys, and nostalgic warmth.
