A new supernatural thriller on Netflix titled Baramulla is set to debut on November 7. Set in the snow-clad and mysterious valley of Kashmir, the film follows DSP Ridwaan Sayyed (played by Manav Kaul), who is transferred to the town of Baramulla to investigate a string of child disappearances. As he and his family move into a derelict house, they confront hidden forces and haunting secrets that shake the foundations of the quiet town.
Directed and written by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, Baramulla is co-produced by B62 Studios and Jio Studios. The film promises a blend of intense emotional storytelling and supernatural suspense, making the valley of Kashmir itself a character in the narrative. Bhasha Sumbli appears in a key role alongside Kaul, enhancing the film’s atmospheric mystery.
This marks the second collaboration between Netflix and B62 Studios following their earlier venture. The makers have emphasized that Baramulla aims to challenge conventional genre boundaries in Indian cinema by melding horror, mystery and drama in a haunting and immersive setting.
Kashmir’s rugged landscapes, historic tensions and natural beauty form more than just a backdrop. According to the director, the environment shapes the story’s mood, tensions and characters, lending the production a sense of place rarely explored in mainstream Indian thrillers. Audiences can expect a chilling story of vanished children, entangled customs and supernatural forces colliding with the everyday—in a location where every rock and corridor seems to hold a secret.
