At 82, Amitabh Bachchan has responded to audience and media chatter about his changed appearance during Kaun Banega Crorepati 17. The iconic actor acknowledged that his appearance has altered, attributing these changes to aging, and said he is making efforts to “rectify it” as best as he can.
In a message on his official blog, he remarked that feedback from viewers and some media friends suggested he ought to look into it more carefully. While he accepts that age brings change, he asked for his fans’ patience, adding that their applause and love are the driving force behind his continued performance in the show after more than two decades.
Bachchan also reflected on one of the tougher parts of hosting the show: seeing contestants who come in with big hopes lose out. He said that the emotional toll of their disappointment is real—not just for them, but for him too. When contestants who have sacrificed or paused their personal commitments fail to win, he finds their frustration deeply affecting. Yet, he said, offering encouragement and reminding them that loss is a part of life is one way to offer comfort.
