Vivek Agnihotri’s intense political drama The Bengal Files is set to have its global digital premiere on ZEE5 Global starting 21st November 2025, following its much-discussed theatrical release. Written and directed by Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts alongside I Am Buddha Productions, the film stars a stellar ensemble including Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Simrat Kaur, and Saswata Chatterjee.
The Bengal Files is the concluding chapter of the acclaimed “Files Trilogy,” which follows The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files. This historical drama unfolds against the dramatic and volatile backdrop of pre-Independence Bengal, focusing on the 1946 Great Calcutta Killings—also known as Direct Action Day—and explores how these events profoundly influenced India’s journey toward Partition and Independence.
