Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 has emerged as a significant success in the Indian film industry, setting new benchmarks at the box office. In just three days, the film has grossed ₹162.85 crore net in India, surpassing the lifetime earnings of Game Changer and Sikandar.
The film’s opening day collection was ₹61.85 crore, followed by ₹46 crore on Friday and ₹55 crore on Saturday. Its international performance has also been impressive, grossing over $2.5 million (approximately ₹22 crore) in the first two days.
Kantara Chapter 1 is a prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara, delving into deep cultural themes and spiritual roots. Directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, the film also features performances by Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah. Its success has led to a scheduled screening at Rashtrapati Bhavan, marking a significant milestone for regional cinema.
