Science of Spirituality (SOS)/Sawan Kirpal Ruhani Mission (SKRM) successfully conducted its 41st Free Eye Checkup and Cataract Surgery Camp at Kirpal Bagh, Delhi, from September 14 to 21, 2025, under the guidance of Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj. The initiative helped 1,200 patients regain their vision, positively impacting lives across Delhi NCR and northern India.
Cataracts remain a leading cause of visual impairment, especially in underserved communities, affecting both livelihoods and quality of life. The camp, organized with the support of volunteer physicians from the United States and expert doctors from ICARE Hospital, Noida, provided advanced eye care to those who could not afford treatment.
Over the eight-day camp, 2,771 individuals were screened, with 1,685 patients deemed eligible for cataract surgery. Participants received comprehensive care, including free accommodation, meals, transportation, reading glasses, and other essential support.
SKRM volunteers facilitated patient registration, logistics, and on-ground management, ensuring smooth operations throughout the camp. Surgeries were conducted at ICARE Eye Hospital with high-quality lenses and skilled supervision from both local and international doctors.
For many patients, the camp brought newfound independence. Jogender Pal of Delhi said the surgery will allow him to lead a self-reliant life, while Sheela and Narang Devi expressed similar joy and relief at regaining their vision and improving their quality of life.
Volunteers and doctors described the experience as profoundly fulfilling. “Restoring sight lets the light of life shine again,” shared a U.S.-based physician.
SOS/SKRM has a long-standing tradition of selfless service, having helped over 21,000 people regain their eyesight through free medical and eye camps, embodying compassion and humanitarian care.
