China has officially opened the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou province, now recognized as the world’s tallest bridge. The bridge soars 625 meters above the Beipan River, dramatically reducing travel time across the canyon from two hours to just two minutes.
The bridge stretches 1,420 meters in length and includes a 207-meter sightseeing elevator, glass walkway, and sky cafes, providing visitors with panoramic views of the canyon. Completed in just over three years, it is expected to boost tourism and economic development in the surrounding regions.
The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge surpasses the Beipanjiang Bridge, previously the tallest in the area, highlighting China’s rapid advancements in engineering and infrastructure. Officials emphasize that the project enhances connectivity in remote mountainous regions, making travel faster and safer for commuters.
